How to add IDM extensions to Firefox

Internet Download Manager for Windows is a program that allows users to manage and speed up downloads. One of its features is an extension that it will ask you to apply to your browser in order to integrate the two programmed. However, if both extensions, old and new, continue to exist, you only need one. If you installed the IDM CC extension manually, you can remove it by clicking the uninstall button on the right. Integration will be impossible if the browser is run in administrator mode, which occurs when you install Firefox using an intermediary programme such as complete commander.

Select Internet Download Manager:

In the Resources area, navigate to the Firefox Browser Integration Manual Installation link in Internet Download Manager.

Press the Install button:

When prompted, click the “Install” button on the page, followed by the “Allow” button. The Software Installation dialogue box appears in Firefox.

Select the Install Now option:

Select the “Install Now” option. Wait for Firefox to install the extension before clicking the “Restart Now” button in a popup alert bubble beneath a green puzzle piece icon near the upper left corner of the browser, in front of the address bar.

Check that the “IDM CC” extension is enabled in the Extensions list by selecting the Add-ons Manager tab.

New and old versions of IDM extensions

Please keep in mind that due to worldwide changes in FireFox 40, we created a new add-on for FireFox with a new ID.
